Fabric? Done and done!

After my post yesterday discussing my desire to sew, I headed over to fabric.com to make my final fabric choices for my curtains and pillow covers. I also found a couple cute options for the apron I want to attempt!

I bet you're just dying to know what I chose, so here is some fabric eye candy for you!

For my curtains and one pillow cover:

One throw pillow cover each:

I ordered a sample of the first fabric, which I love, and am hoping the other three I chose will compliment it nicely. Being that they're from the same line, Premier Prints, the grey shouldn't be too far off. Even if they aren't exactly the same, I can always claim it was on purpose!

My apron fabric choices are a little more bold and fun, and I'm really excited to see them in person. I don't think the blues will match exactly, but they'll be close enough.

(yes, this is the same pattern as one of the cushion fabrics I chose. I just love it so much!!)

(I love chevron, what can I say?)

In total, I ordered eighteen yards of fabric (the window I'm making the curtains for is very large) and my total, including ridiculously expensive shipping, was just over $150. For A's benefit, because I know he's reading, that's at least 50% less then what I would have spent had I bought the curtains and cushion covers retail.

That makes me very excited.

Now, lets hope I don't screw them up!

(Just a heads up if you're needing to place a fabric order; I found a coupon code for 10% off of an order of $40 or more. It's corner13. I have no idea how long it's good for, but it's worth giving it a shot!)

Sew much fun?

I have to admit, I'm jealous of people who can sew. I mean, it seems like such a simple task that almost always creates something spectacular.

Combine that jealousy with the fact that I cannot find a single pair of curtains that I like for my living room, and this goal of learning to sew was born. My list for this goal is small:
  1. Sew lined curtains for our living room.
  2. Sew complimentary throw pillow covers for our living room.
  3. Attempt an apron for myself.
  4. Attempt a basic tote bag.
I'll update once I've ordered my fabric. I've been scouring the internet for the perfect choices, and found one that I love for our curtains. Now I just have to find a couple options for throw pillows and I'll be set!
